Explore and Discover the Art & Craft of Storytelling (Storytelling [Media 3362/Education 5006]) This course will explore storytelling in terms of definition, selection of appropriate materials, methods of preparation, and techniques of presentation. Traditional rendering of stories, as well as more innovative approaches using art, music, and movement, will be demonstrated. Developing storytelling units based on a theme or historical figure also will be discussed. Participants in this course will have many opportunities to learn stories and polish them for telling. Emphasis is placed on personal experience and how it fits into existing curriculum. |

You can download a Press Kit for the Storytelling Festival or request a Press Kit Folder with an image CD. This kit includes background information on the history of storytelling and the St. Louis Storytelling Festival, bios of the featured storytellers and the places stories will be told throughout St. Louis. There is also information about all the special events including stories for adults, ghost stories, stories for the deaf, the storytelling concerts and spiritual storytelling. We send out a Press Kit Folder to over 100 media contacts. The CD in the folder includes images of the featured storytellers. If you haven't received a folder in the past, you may not be on our mailing list. If you'd like a Press Kit folder, please complete the Press Kit Folder Request Form. |
